I have been ultra busy these days! Finally I have finished my exam marking so I have decided to take a breather today. I have also been busy with looking after Kaylan! She is quite a handful! I thought that she was cured of her scabies but recently she has been infected again. Last Fri, I had 37 bites on my left arm alone. I quarantined myself to avoid infecting others. I am now on a war path against sacroptic mange! Apart from cleaning and spraying Kaylan's playpen with a special disinfectant, I have also disinfected my bed and sofa. This is the second time I am doing it. I really hope to exterminate, obliterate and destroy all these hateful mites!
I have also been training Kaylan and she is really a fast learner. She has perfected the command 'sit' and is now learning to 'heel' , 'lie down' , 'leave it' and 'shake hands'. I had to teach her the 'leave it' command because she loves to grab rubbish likes tissue paper, leaves, twigs and all kinds of rubbish! However, I have been quite succesful with the leave it command. She learnt it in one day! I am so proud of her! Kay Kay also loves to jump on the bed to get our attention! We tried all methods to stop her from jumping but to no avail. The internet is such a marvellous thing. I googled it and tata... I had the perfect solution.. simple yet effective. A WATER GUN!!!!
Whenever she jumps onto the bed, I would surreptitiously shoot her with the water pistol. The aim is to startle her and it worked! She immediately got off the bed and now she seldoms jumps on the bed. A 'no' and she quickly gets off the bed! It works on Russell also. Russell is very well-behaved but is very noisy! One shot from the water gun and he shuts up!!!
However when I went round trying to buy the gun, I was quite embarrassed because I said water gun in Mandarin and in my attempt to clarify with her, I said 'hand gun' in Mandarin. My hubby burst out laughing. But the lady had no expression. Thank god... so embarrassing!!!!
