Today was the first collection for the Cross Country Fund Raising race. I was hoping that my class would cooperate and at least bring $10 each for the first collection but only a few answered my pleas. It all boils down to attitude. They are enjoying the good facilities now because of the funds raised by previous batches. I really hope they could show some appreciation and gratitude to their alma mater. I really hope they would be able to raise more funds after the CNY clelebrations. Of course, there are some pupils who will always try their best to help the school. so proud and mighty pleased with them! I have a pupil who is on financial assistance but she managed to raise $20. Cool ! I am so proud of her fund-raising efforts.
Today, I also taught my 5B comprehension skills. I know that some of them are not interested. They are pretending to do their work. Yet I couldn't attend to them. I had to attend to those who want to learn so I went around helping those who were earnestly trying out the compre questions and I can see that slowly but surely they are mastering the skills. I wish that all of them would treat this exercise seriously. They are so weak; yet they dun seem to want to master these ever-important techniques. They only got a little serious after I scolded them and glared at them. I am going to have to punish them tomorrow should they not do their homework. I guess I will have to come down hard on them.. no more Mr nice guy or should I say nice lady!
Anyway, I am excited about the class play. Darren A and I sat down and worked out the script last Fri. We had a lot of fun and laughed like crazy. Some others joined us and gave us brilliant ideas. I think JJ is quite creative. He has lots of ideas. Now, all it takes is some editing and our play would be quite cool! heheh hopefully...

Today was quite a relaxing day for me because I only had classes with 5B and 43. I am covering the speech genre and comprehension topics with them. I hope they would be able to grasp the concepts. I know the topic can be a tad boring but they would have to bear with us. We can't play as many games with them.. Now it is drill and practice in preparation for the big 'Os'. I will give them a quiz soon to test them for understanding.
Anyway, poor JJ. He fractured his arm today during PE. It must have really painful but he was very brave about it. He is doing ok and will be back with us in school next Wed.
My Sec 1 class is so cute and innocent. It's rather refreshing. However, there are a few cheeky ones in there. I can tell that their 'horns' are growing.. hmm... time to trim them.. hahah
My best bud Komi has left for DDM. It's rather quiet and I dun have anymore breafast kakis.. sigh... However, God bless me with another good friend- EEKOOONNN! She used to teach in AMKSS.. a brilliant and caring teacher, a funny and generous friend. I am so happy she is back in school albeit only for a short stint.

School has re-opened and so far things are going smoothly. I must say I am rather pleased with5B results. They have come a long way. I am so happy that so many of them did well in the 'N' level exams. They can acheive if they want to. It all boils down to ATTITUDE. ..at least all the scolding, nagging did not fall on deaf ears.
Also, they seem to be on fire- fire and thirst for learning. Today, during English, I was so impressed that all of them got down to doing their work without me nagging at them to do so. What a difference! 5B has really matured. I guess they now know that nothing is impossible. All it takes is hard work, diligence and a willingness to listen and learn. I am so proud of them.
Also, today I had another pleasant surprise! Mdm Aw actually called 5B 'angelic' and she did not mean it in a sarcastic way. She really meant it. She said they were very on task during her lesson. That is really music to my ears...
I strongly believe that 5B will continue to taste success if they continue to work hard and remain focussed on their goals!!!!
