I had a rather exciting weekend with lots to do! Firstly on Fri, some gals from school and I celebrated Kae Pheng's birthday at Dragonfly where we had lots of fun dancing and watching our idols sing.Kp has finally joined the Thirties club where the fun has just started! haha. I also hosted a party for my aunty Jessie who just came back from USA. All my relatives came to my place on Saturday where we had food, games and loads of fun! Aunt Jessie resides in Salem, USA, a nice quiet town where seafood is exorbitant and frozen! She has been eating a lot too. I guess she really misses Singapore food! Who wouldn't????
Tonight, Aunt Jessie gave us a treat and the food was yummy! So much eating for the past few days! Must seriously diet tomorrow. Pamela, another cousin of mine who went for dinner tonight seriously needs to go for some serious hair treatment. You see, she has been wearing ultra long hair extensions for very long and finally she got rid of her Rapunzel locks. But alas.. her original hair is all knotted and matted! worse than my dog's hair.. She was quite upset about it..
Anyway, tomorrow is the start of the 'N' Level exams! I wish all my 4B students all the best for the exams. You can do it! Give it your best shot!! Also Good luck 33.. Ace the EL paper tomorrow ok!!!

I am happy yet sad today. Happy that I have full attendance(4B) FINALLY! Some of them have gone MIA recently because of N fever! However, I am so dismayed with 43 EL grades. I am aghast! I thought they should have known how to answer Paper 1 part 2. I have drilled them in it but alas.. I also dunno why.. why did you compare???!!! Tell me. The class was silent when I told them the news. I think they are just as disappointed as me. I can't blame them.. It does affect their L1R5 grade. I really hope they would be more attentive and diligent and put in 100% into improving their grades soon. I think they are little too playful recently.. Cannot slack already.. must really put in effort.
Tonight I had a lovely steak dinner plus broccoli, carrots and baked beans. The baked potato was so heavenly. I polished my plate clean. I wished I had taken a photograph of the lovely meal my parents put together for us today. Simply YUUMMMMYYYY...
Actually, I am currently marking 43 compre but I have decided to take a break and blog a little. I guess I have to stop now and go back to my marking. See ya.. Be good!

CaL let me watch a video entitled' Qiang Qiang' written by Ella from SHE. It is a tribute to her dog, Qiang Qiang who has just passed away. I cried when I watched it.. So meaningful and sad!
I am so happy! I have always wanted this cute seal from Mother Garden. I am no soft toy collector but I totally fell in love with it! It is superbly soft and smooth to the touch! But to my disappointment it is always out of stock! Yesterday my hubby surprised me with it! It is my teachers' day gift! Yippeee! Thank You CaL CaL! Love u!!!!
I love mooncakes! They are simply divine. But they are so sinful! 1/4 slice is 199 calories. so much and I am only supposed to consume 1800 a day. sigh. but I can't resist especially the snow skin mooncakes... I treat it as exercise.. it is quite hard to cut through the mooncake and divide it into quarters.. ehe so I am working my biceps.. who am i bluffing...
Yesterday I went to a dance concert with my Guides, Red cross and NPCC. Table tennis group was there too. Melissa, one of my colleagues was performing. She was super graceful. Now I see her in a different light. I never knew she could dance so well! Seeing is believing. Ayway the concert was rather interesting. I was fascinated by a number of performances. But i didn't quite like some. A tad boring for me. Nonetheless, I enjoyed myself.
Tonight I sleep alone. My hubby has left for Vietnam. Luckily my dogs are with me. They are my guardian angels. I shall keep myself busy by exercising and marking. I am left with 25 prelim scripts. It is just so difficult to mark bad English!
I am going to the Linkin Park concert. I am not a huge fan but I enjoy their music immensely. Actually I didn't want to go. wanted to save some money but my hubby persuaded me to go for it. He didn't want me to regret it! Lucky me. he is going with me. Today he was really nice and sweeet.. trying to placate me.. for leaving me behind in Singapore.

This whole week has been good for me. I get to go home early and do my favourite activity- SLEEP! I love my afternoon naps. After my naps, I would snack! haha. Then I will start to do my work.. sometimes I mark.. sometimes I plan my lessons. Often this week, I marked. I have 1.5 set of prelim papers left, 1 set of essay from 33 and 1/2 of 43 mock paper. Sigh.. so much work to do but I will finish it eventually.
Anyway, today as usual, I brought my doggies to my place. They live with my parents who live just next door. I decided to give them a treat- Greenie Bones... But Russell fought with Bubbles which led to some bleeding. I checked his gums and it was swollen and bleeding. I immediately rang the vet. I waited for an hour before Russell was examined. Luckily, the vet said that his wound was not serious! I was mighty pleased with Rus.. he was so well-behaved at the vet! did exactly what he was told to do! My dogs have a very good command of the EL language.. they understand us perfectly well... lile my children.. heheh
In the evening, I met my insurance agent and he discussed some financial strategies with me. But I dun have much savings so I dun think I can invest much. Later, Cal and I went to Mustaffa. We had to some shopping. I bought my grandma three tops. Must look ok grandma! i wil make u a Hot mama! LOL In addition, I bought some household stuff and a new mop. Cal hates it whenever I hold something long in my hand because I have the tendency to pretend to be a jedi knight and irritate the hell out of him.. He said so himself " I hate it when u hold something long" and proceeded to shoot me a dirty look! hahah but that made me even happier.. I did some cool jedi moves. but soon I got bored. then I pretended to be harry potter on a broom stick.. that got Cal laughing and and a ang moh nearby was pretty amused by me.
I just love to goof around. We shouldn't take life so serious right. Must let loose and have fun! Anyway.. I got home at 2.30am.. a little tired. but decided to come and post something on my blog.. What shall I do tomorrow??

I went to the Botanic gardens with Gee, Joy, Cal, Bub, Jobi and Russell yesterday. We went there because Gee wanted to learn to take nice shots from Joy who is an avid photographer. But duhh.. Gee forgot to charge her camera. LOL. Anyway the park was really beautiful and serene. We met some other doggies there . That got Bub really excited but too bad Russell and Jobi couldn't go anyway near the doggies because Russell is really aggressive when he is on the leash.. We couldn't allow them to roam free because it is not allowed in Botanic Gardens. I met this hottie from Queen band, Dragonfly. Well, I think it is him... I think he is cute but my friends think otherwise.
At night, we went to Marina Square to get my topshop privilege card. I am really mad with them. It is still not ready. Then why send me a letter informing me to collect it from Dorothy Perkins. When I went to DP, they told me they dun have it and asked me to go to Topshop. I walked there and the saleslady said she didn't have it too.. This is the fifth time I have visited the shop and they told me that my card is not ready and guess what... I submitted my application on 11 Feb 2007. It has been so long and my card IS STILL NOT READY... This is extremely infuriating. The sales lady from topshop took down my hp no because she said that that the sales lady from DP will call me shortly. I was in the dressing room when they called. Apparently, they only rang once and they immediately put down the phone. My hubby was irate! He was holding the phone all the while. Before he could answer the phone, they have hanged up! He called them and gave them a good scolding! It was so loud. The Topshop store supervisor came over and intervened. He apologised profusely and told us he would look into the matter. We looked at incredulously and told him we heard this line upmteen times... no use. He assured us that he would do his best.. WHATEVER man...
Anyway he said he would settle the matter by Tues. If he still doesn't call, I am writing in to Wing Tai Asia to complain!!!! I am such a loyal customer.. Is that how they treat loyal customers.
Fortunately, we had a superb dinner at WARAKU -a jap restaurant( same floor as K box) that serves delicious pasta. Yummy..I had seafood pasta which is not too bad. Cal had prawn pesto which is rather yummy too. However, the pizza is really delicious.. with huge scallops and succulent prawns on cheese layered crunchy crust.

The doctor instructed the child to hold a lantern high so he could see, while he helped the woman deliver the baby.The child did so, the mother pushed and after a little while, the doctor lifted the newborn baby by the feet and spanked him on the bottom to get him to take his first breath.The doctor then asked the 5-year-old what he thought of the baby."Hit him again," the 5-year-old said. "He shouldn't have crawled up there in the first place!"

This week has been hectic but enjoyable week for me. I led a healthy lifestyle of eating cereals for most mornings. I didn't know that Fitness fruit cereals is so yummy.. honestly it is the best cereal that I have ever eaten.. I am switching brands from now onwards.
Anyway like what I was saying, I exercised quite a bit this week.. did aerobics, ran 2.4 km in 20 min( will try and better my timing but it has been donkey or may dinosaur's years since I last ran), played squash with my buddy GEE.. Had so much fun. Last night, I went dancing with some colleagues and boy did I enjoy myself. I hadn't been out with them for so long and it was really cool!
Today, I think I will do my laundry and some marking. I have been relaxing a bit too much. heheh feeling guilty now. and the hols are ending. boo hoo..
Let me share a cool story with you...
A wise old gentleman retired and purchased a modest home near a junior high school. He spent the first few weeks of his retirement in peace and contentment. Then a new school year began. The very next afternoon three young boys, full of youthful, after-school enthusiasm, came down his street, beating merrily on every trash can they encountered. The crashing percussion continued day after day, until finally the wise old man decided it was time to take some action. The next afternoon, he walked out to meet the young percussionists as they banged their way down the street. Stopping them, he said, "You kids are a lot of fun. I like to see you express your exuberance like that. In fact, I used to do the same thing when I was your age. Will you do me a favor? I'll give you each a dollar if you'll promise to come around every day and do your thing.' The kids were elated and continued to do a bang-up job on the trash cans. After a few days, the old-timer greeted the kids again, but this time he had a sad smile on his face. 'This recession's really putting a big dent in my income,' he told them. 'From now on, I'll only be able to pay you 50 cents to beat on the cans.' The noisemakers were obviously displeased, but they did accept his offer and continued their afternoon ruckus. A few days later, the wily retiree approached them again as they drummed their way down the street. 'Look,' he said, 'I haven't received my Social Security check yet, so I'm not going to be able to give you more than 25 cents. Will that be okay?' 'A lousy quarter?' the drum leader exclaimed. 'If you think we're going to waste our time, beating these cans around for a quarter, you're nuts! No way, mister. We quit!' And the old man enjoyed peace.

Today I woke up rather excited! My guides are going for dragon boating for the first time. So exciting. Although I didn't get into the boat, I enjoyed chit chatting with Mr Lai and Mr Tong. They were great fun! You can check out the photos in the Guides Blog.
My Hubby's van broke down again and now he needs $3000 to repair it.. Shocking! so much! He is upset and is showing me the black black face... like charcoal.. as if it is my fault. Makes me angry just thinking about it. Anyway, I was nice enough to go to Jurong West to pick him up but I got lost in the process.. hehehe missed an exit.
Tomorrow I am going to cut my hair. Just a trim anyway to get rid of dead, split ends. Feeling sleepy...feel like watching SECRET.. the Jay Chou show .heard it is romantic! Will convince hubby to watch it. hehehe

My hubby is very smart.. I had trouble keeping all my earrings so he sat down and told me to give him some time to think of an idea.. and guess what? he made me something for me to hang all my lovely earrings.. really cool and smart of him..
He took an ordinary box and wrapped it in nice wrapping paper. Then, he punched many many holes using a compass.. and he stuck the box on the wall.. and voila.. I have something to hang all my earrings. It is nice and saves space... I can have my pick of earrings in just one glance.
