When F1 came to town, I didn't think much of it. I am very into cars but I did not see any fun in seating in the stadium watching the cars zoom past me. I thought I would be bored to death. Also, the tickets were so expensive...
However, when my hubby scored 2 tickets for us to watch F1 for free, I thought why not. Free... I want hahaha. Besides I knew KP and WL would be there!!!!
Anyway, I was quite excited on Fri but we reached Marina quite late. We ended up only catching one practice run even though the races started at 3 pm. Cal and I had a difficult time getting to our seats as the place was thronged with people. There was such a bottleneck that I felt I was going to faint from the lack of air and extreme heat. I had to yell, '" please move" because I really could not take it anymore. There was a group of people gathering round a tent looking at something.. I also dunno what. They were blocking our entrance and that caused a bottleneck...
By the time I got to the seats, I was so hot and bothered. There was 1.5 hour more to the next race so I went to get some drinks. The drink queue was also terribly long... so exasperating.. I waited another one hour before I could get my drinks. To worsen matters, there were two bimbos queuing in front of me chattering incessantly in a silly and affected manner. I pushed my ear plugs further into my ears.
Once the race started, I was captivated by the booming, fast cars. They were really fast! It was so exciting that I sat at the edge of my seat the whole time. I didn't know it could be so enthralling!!! I couldn't wait for Sat to come for the qualifying races. However, I didn't get to go to the finals because I wanted to attend the wedding of my friend. Besides the exhilarating races, there were plenty of fringe events like mini concerts, stalls selling F1 merchandise and DJ spinning music.. All these things gave the whole venue a festive, colourful and exciting feel. :)
I really enjoyed myself at the F1. I can't wait for the next race!!! I will post the pics later!!!

This past week was hectic but in a good way. Last week we celebrated teachers' day THREE times. We had a staff dinner at SAF Yacht Club where we had a great time. The place was idllyic and serene as the restaurant was just near the dock. Then, we celebrated T day in school. I was immensely touched by all the cards and gifts. I really felt appreciated and loved. My ex-form class pupils rushed back to AMKSS to visit and they brought me not only well-wishes but also a fabulous, soft pillow. I was so touched that they still remembered me!! My class 5B was also very sweet. I loved their cards, cookies, toys and baked cornflakes. It is not the gift but the thought behind the gifts and cards that really touched me. When I read some of the cards written by pupils in 43, I was really moved by their sincerity.
Then, in the afternoon, the PSG group of our school organised a visit to Qian Hu fish farm. I had fun there especially during my spa experience with the FISH. We submerged our feet into pools of fish which nibbled at the dead skin of our feet. It felt a tad ticklish but it felt good. There were two pools of fish: tiny and big. I went for the big fish immeidiately.. no small fish for me. hahah. It didn't feel very ticklish. in fact it felt like accupressure and it felt good. I think my feet must be covered with dried skin, judging from the way so many fishes swarmed my feet to BITE it.
My Sunday and Mon evening were spent with with my cousin, Jon from America, his friend Chris and the rest of our family. Jon came back to Singapore to vist. We had steamboat at granny's place on Sun and Holland XO noodles on Mon. It was great to have him back. He is still the same only he looked better!
Tuesday, we celebrated my dad's birthday. So much feasting these past few days. But I had to rush Jobi to the vet. When I found him, he was lying lifeless and his fur was covered with urine. His paw was infected and bleeding. He was also having a fever. He looked really sick. When I brought him to the vet, he was so lifeless. He just lay on the floor. He didn't even move an inch although there were other dogs there. This was unusual because he is super friendly. I felt so sad but I knew he was not getting better. The vet told me that Jobi's lymph nodes are swollen and that means his cancer is spreading. I felt depressed but I was mentally prepared for it so I wasn't so distraught. I just kept stroking him. Today, he seems better. I even brought him down for a short walk and he seem pleased. He smiled at me and I felt so good. Now he is sleeping contendly on his blanket.
Last night, I went out with some colleagues to celebrate KP's birthday. We had a delicious meal at a German restaurant which served fabulous sausages. Then we hanged out at Dragonfly and Powerhouse.
Today, I must do some work. I only marked a little for the past few days. I have an exam paper to set, prelim papers to mark, testimonials to write... I have so much work to do but so little time. Tonight, I am visiting my friend, Candice who has just given birth to a beautiful baby boy. I can't wait to see him.
