Today, I finally managed to get the maid to come to my place to clean and iron. It has been one month and my toilet was seriously starting to smell like a filthy public toilet. Also, I didn't have ironed clothes to wear for so long. The maid ironed for 2 hours. Now my wardrobe is full of clothes again. Yippeee.. no more scratching of head of what to wear.. now I have plenty of choices. I have been watching American Idol. I like Simon. He is so accurate in his assessments and he doesn't mince his words. That's cool! I like Paula because she is such a softie... However, has anyone noticed that Paula claps like a sea lion (those who are made to perform in front of an audience). Haven't you seen sea lions propped on stools clapping on cue when commanded by their trainers. Paula claps like that. heheh and that wide grin of hers.. so sea lion like. I get a kick watching her.. hehehe Anyway, I just finished reading 'Marley and Me.' I read the last chapter in the toilet and I couldn't stop my tears from flowing freely. There are qualities in Marley which I see in my threee darlings. I dread the day when I have to say goodbye to Russell and Bubbles. Saying goodbye to Jobi was so hard... Anyway, I can't wait to catch the movie, 'Marley and Me' Besides the great storyline, I like Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson. I think they are pretty decent actors.. and they seem rather nice and down-t0-earth, not forgetting charming too.

Thank you everyone. for your well wishes and gifts. I turned 32 recently and I had a fabulous time. On Friday, my colleagues bought a magnificent cake and celebrated my birthday with me. I loved their gift- a Lancome eye shadow set- the kind that I adore. Yesterday, which was my birthday I was touched that many of my ex pupils remembered my birthday and sent me sms to wish me well.

Also, as my birthday fell on a Sunday this year, I thought I should celebrate it in a more fun way. I organised a BBQ to celebrate both my hubby's birthday and mine (his birthday is tomorrow). I invited my best pals and my family. My hubby and I spent the whole day buying the food and preparing it, Then we proceeded to the park for a feast. There was so much leftovers but I am glad everyone had a good time. Thanks you guys... My best pals bought Cal and I two sturdy, wonderful, portable Coleman chairs. They will definitely come in useful when we have more BBQs in the future :)

Today, I went to school very tired because the BBQ ended quite late yesterday. I was struggling to keep awake in the morning meeting and I was really glad when it was over. I then went to class for morning assembly. I collected some school fees and then I was pleasantly suprised when my class presented me with a lovely cake in my favourite flavour- mango!!! I loved it. It was from Breadtalk and it was DIVINE!!! I was really touched. They also gave a me a handmade cake and a towel. It was the most thoughtful card that I have evenr received. It was so sweet. It had my photo superimposed on Wonderwoman's body. In the card, there were pictures of Orland Bloom and Gwen Stefani. How cool was that. It was AWESOME!!! One of the pupils also painstakingly sewed my name on the towel which was a gift from them. it was really sweet of them.

Mrs Nair gave me a lovely bag. Miss Zaiton gave a lovely set of markers. My sis gave me a beautiful set of cosmetics and perfume. My cousins gave me Bodyshop vouchers. My family gave me angpows. My hubby gave me the watch of my dreams... a RADO watch with lovely diamonds. Thank you everyone for your lovely gifts.

Actually this year, I didn't feel very good because there was a dark shadow hovering around. I share the same birthday as the founders of Girl Guides. Hence my birthday is on the same day as Girl Guides' Thinking Day.Every year I would blithely celebrate these events.This year, I did an injustice to the Girl Guides unit... I felt really bad and guilty.. All our hard work.. all the meetings, trainings and badge work... sigh... It breaks my heart to think of it. I promise to do even better next year and bring back the Silver award!!!!

Cannibal Fruit

Three men who were lost in the forest were captured by cannibals. The cannibal king told the prisoners that they could live if they pass a trial. The first step of the trial was to go to the forest and get ten pieces of the same kind of fruit. So all three men went separate ways to gather fruits.The first one came back and said to the king, "I brought ten apples." The king then explained the trial to him. "You have to shove the fruits up your butt without any expression on your face or you'll be eaten."The first apple went in... but on the second one he winced out in pain, so he was killed.The second one arrived and showed the king ten berries. When the king explained the trial to him he thought to himself that this should be easy. 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8... and on the ninth berry he burst out in laughter and was killed.The first guy and the second guy met in heaven. The first one asked, "Why did you laugh, you almost got away with it?" The second one replied, "I couldn't help it, I saw the third guy coming with pineapples."

Bubbles gave me such a scare today. I was coming home from the gym when I saw Cal with Bubbles. He was walking her earlier because he needs to take his car to the workshop.. AGAIN. So after dinner, I just need to walk Russell.

However after dinner at my mum's place, when I was supposed to walk Russell, Bubbles wanted to join us but she has already gone for her walk! She dashed out of the house and I had no choice but to leave her at my place ( which is opposite my mum's place)

Cal then left for the car workshop not knowing that Bubbles was at home with him. So when he opened the main door, Bubbles made a run for it. I was oblivious to everything because I was walking Russell. The next thing I knew it, Cal drives over and yelled at me and told me that Bub has run off. I was flabbergasted! I rushed back home. Poor Russell.. I had to drag him home and he is old. He can't walk fast.

By the time I got to my void deck, my dad was downstairs and I gave him Russell. I then frantically yelled Bubbles' name because I know she would come bounding to me if she hears me. However, Bubbles didn't come! I ran around the neighbourhood. I realised that I can't run to save my life. Sigh... anyway.. when I ran back to my block, exhausted, my dad told me that Bubbles has been found.

My sister and her Bf were coming down to help look for Bubbles and they called out to my dad from our lift landing(4th floor). When my dad looked up, he saw Bubbles peering at him from the 3rd floor lift landing. That lazy gal.. is so used to taking the lift that she doesn't know how to take the stairs. My sis's Bf carried her home!!!! Apparently Bubbles was also in shock because when she got home she whined pitefully. My mum dropped everything to 'sayang' her.

When I got home, she rushed to me and I hugged her tightly. I was so afraid! I knew she would come back to me.. I was just worried that she might get knocked down by cars... or get trapped in a ditch!!!! Now she is safe and sound and sleeping like an angel in her bed....

As I was driving home today, I was rather melancholic. I was feeling exhausted for I had a long day. I was also rather impatient to get out of my work clothes and have a nice shower. I was glad that I was alone in my car as that meant that I could blast my music and drive like a maniac: the two things I knew would boost my mood. I love music and I cannot stomach lousy players so I paid a lot of attention to the sound system in my car. It's a namkamichi so the sound quality is crystal clear. I also have a woofer ( I hope it is spelt correctly) to up my bass and two amplifiers. I must say that listening to my favourite tunes did alleviate my bad mood somewhat.

When I got home, I immediately popped into my shower. I love to bathe and so does my hubby. Unfortunately, my shower stall is pretty small so that means we can never bathe together but it's okay for I rather bathe alone. I always use my bathing time to reflect and think of the day's events. In fact whenever I am faced with a problem, I tend to come up with creative solutions when I am in the shower. Someone once told me that water activates some part of the brain to come up with creative ideas. I agree. I have come up with solutions to problems, interesting lesson plans and even good ideas for my CCA and class while showering.

Once, a huge sum of money was stolen from my class fund and it was an inside job. My treasurer was careless. She did not keep the money properly and even though I urged the culprit to return the moeny, he/she didn't do it. So I had an Eureka moment while showering. I told my treasurer that we would trick the thief. I told her to let some of her friends know that I knew who the thief was and that I was giving the thief the opportunity to redeem himself by returning the money. I also made an announcement to the class, informing them that I wanted the thief to put the money in my locker. If he cannot return all of it,the least he could do was to return some of it. It worked and the thief returned $100 the next day and subsequently the rest of the money.

Today, one of my ex pupils came back to do relief teaching. It was a proud moment for me.. This is someone whom I have taught and imparted knowledge to. He was the chairperson of my class and he was the top boy of the school in the 'O' level exams. I remember him to be a self-motivated, diligent and responsible pupil, an exemplary role model for the rest of the class.

I hope all my pupils will be inspired to study hard and work hard for their future. I know that it is not easy being a student as you struggle with your studies, CCA, peer pressure and maybe conflicts with your peers or family members. But you only have one life. Don't grow up regretting anything. I feel it is important to live life without regrets. I am sure everyone wants a bright future, to be succesful in life and to lead a cushy life. However, all these things don't come easy. You have to work hard for it. You reap what you sow. You must put in effort to tast success. I know that as a pupil, I worked very hard, sacrifcing sleep and time spent with my friends; but I don't regret it for I have achieved almost all my dreams and even landed my dream job. :) So live life with zero regrets! Live your life to your fullest.
