I have a fantastic class!! Yes!! They really surprised me! When Joselyn and I told them to bring red packets to decorate the class, all of them obediently brought not just one but many packets. I was pleasantly suprised. It has been such a long time since I had such an obedient class! They did a good job doing up the classroom. Nice!
Also, some of them in the class have a lot of initiative. Just after one day of nominating the committee, they have already come up with the noticeboard design. Super Duper!! :O)
Now, I need to work on class spirit, team work and getting them to be more serious about their studies. I am going to doing something interesing with them for the month of Feb. I shall discuss with Joselyn first.
Now to another topic. Recently American Idol is airing again. I marvel at how deluded some people are. They obviously cannot sing to save their lives but they insist on auditioning for American Idol. What a waste of time! My hubby and I are appalled at how silly some of them are. Sometimes I pity the judges. I know they are paid by the truckloads but I guess it can be quite tiresome to listen to thousands of lousy singers.
I am still sick. My nose sometimes has a mind of its own. It can be fine for the whole day but the moment I step into my home, it gets runny. Like today, I couldn't stop sneezing and sniffing. I almost used up half the box of tissue. I took medicine and even burn some peppermint oil to alleviate my runny nose. I guess, my room is rather dusty. I have not cleaned it for quite some time since my trusty robovac had died on me. The good news is that my hubby has bought a NEW vacuum cleaner. Now he's out buying a charger for it.

The 'O' Level results were out yesterday! It was a day of great anticipation. Overall the cohort did rather well. Our English results were good and the MSG improved for both the Express and Na streams. I am so proud of them. However, some of my 5NA pupils did not do well. They cannot get into any polytechnics much to their dismay. They have wasted one year of school. They could have gone into ITE when they were in Sec4 NA. They were devastated. I feel sorry for them and I hope this will be a good lesson for them to work even harder. Earlier on my way home, I was speaking to Mr Tan SH and he mentioned that many of his ex pupils who are in the poly are worried that they cannot further their education in the local universities. They can't afford to go to overseas universities and their results may not be good enough for them to get into our local unis. They regret not studying harder.
I really hope that all pupils who are reading my blog would really take their studies seriously. Wake up from your slumber if you have been slacking around and not putting in effort in your studies. Life is short! You have to study hard if you want to have a good life in the future! Concentrate hard on your studies. Live your life with no regrets!

The 'O' level results will be out tomorrow!!! I am so nervous!!! I really hope that my classes will do well.. that my 5B will make me proud and achieve extraordinary results and I will get many distinctions from 43!!!! I can't wait for tomorrow to come!!!!
Anyway, for the past week, school has been fun and refreshing for me. I think I will have a good year this year. All my classes are new and I am beginning to like them. My form class, 31 is quite cute! They seem rather earnest and obedient. I heard they can be cheeky but I have not seen that side of them yet. Anyway, I hope they will grow to love one another soon. Class spirit is very important to me. I feel that if the class spirit is strong, the class will do well in many things. In the first VE lesson, I took 31 to the music room and we played some icebreaker games. We had a paperball fight and then we got to know a little more about each other. I learnt quite a bit about my class.
3B may seem cheeky and rowdy but I must say that they have been very well-behaved for the past week. They completed all my assignments. I hope they would continue to remain on-task and obedient. Also, they remind me a lot of my 5B 08 and I do miss them.. their funny banter and their support and their love...
2C is cheeky and boisterous. But they are also rather well-behaved and so very cute!! hahah. They still have that kidd000 look and are so short!!!!
I am warming up to 43. I have marked their newspaper reflections assignment and they did a pretty decent job. So far, all of them seem to be rather serious about English. They really need to work hard for they are rather weak. However, with perseverance and hard work, I am sure they will achieve good results.
Also, We just had our CCA orientation and I am so proud of my Guides. They did so well. All the booths were well-manned. The girls were so patient and warm as they interacted with the Sec 1s. The field cooking was a success with the aromatic smell of corn cooking in butter. It's really yummy. I tasted it. I really hope to attract at least 20 girls to join us this year. I feel they would really benefit from joining Guides. Guiding teaches the girls a lot of skills and we are a bunch of fun-loving yet sensible group of gals.
Year 2009 is looking pretty good so far. ;)

I went to Hong Kong in Dec. I really enjoyed myself. I love the food there. There's a famous chain of desserts stall, ' Xu Liu Shan' . The desserts are divine. It's a must try. The shopping in Hong Kong is great! I visited the Esprit outlet where things were sold at a very affordable price. I also visited Disneyland in Hong Kong and I had a lovely time. I went on almost all the rides, took photos with the disney characters and even managed to watch the Christamas Parade. The whole experience was so magical and enchanting. Check out the photos belows
