Today I had Turkey! My parents roasted a turkey.. It's starting!!! The eat-turkey season. Dun get me wrong. My parents' turkey is really tasty and succulent! They have mastered the dish but they tend to overdo things. When you commend them, they will cook that dish all the time. I remember there was one year when Cal and I were actually sick of eating turkey. But for today, I loved it. It has been a long time since I had turkey. I ate so much ..so greeedy!!!!

Anyway, you know there's a new Gatsby Ad. I like the previous one but I l really like the new one too. It is so whimsical and nostalgic. I dunno why but I love the song. It is so silly yet catchy and whoever the actor is.. he has a way of engaging you ... Everytime the ad comes on, I am hooked. Dun disturb me when the Gatsby advertisement is on!

I love Grey's Anatomy. It is showing later. I took part in this trivia quiz on Grey's Anatomy and I got most of my answers right. Yeah!!! McDreamy is so hot and there is so much drama and heart in the show!!! I like the camaraderie that all the interns have. The dialogues are also smart and funny!!

I am looking forward to the Golden Compass and Fred Claus. I have also lost 2 kg... many more to go!! must perserve.. I have been eating yong tau fu without the noodles.. I realise when you eat less carbo, you dun feel so drowsy after the meal and you stay full longer. I am serious! I am a HUGE carbo fan!!! I really did not want to go on a low carbo diet but when I did.. I realised that I dun miss carbo that much!!!!

I watched Enchanted on Sat. It will definitely bring out the princess in you. I could hear all the girls in the theatre smiling and agreeing with the princess(Gisele) in the show who is played by Amy Adams. I haven't heard of her actually. But she can really act. She is like a breathing, real princess like those you would see in Disneyland( those that one will run after to get their autographs). I know because I did just that but was disappointed to see blackheads on Snow white's nose.

The show has it funny moments. Pip the chipmunk is super cute and he steals the shows sometimes with his cute actions and cool imitations! Patrick Demspey as the real-life Prince is so dashing, charming and suave. It's no wonder that Gisele falls in love with him eventually. I love the show. It's funny, sweet and fresh!!! My hubby kept rolling his eyes whenever Gisele sang. hehehe but he enjoyed the movie too. I know because he didn't fall aslep in the show. hahah

I am so tired. am supposed to go for my aerobics class. But the meeting ended so late. By the time I got home, it was 5.45 pm. I thought I could speed home but the traffic was heavy... so this week no aerobics for me. :(

One good news though. I am going to organise an overnight tour of Singapore for my guides. Now I need to speak to the vendor and bargain with him. He needs 40 before he is willing to take us on this tour. So far I have only 19 people who can go.

We are also having our first Initiative workshop next tues. Response has been poor. I wonder why.. All the guiders dun seem to want to send their guides despite knowing that they can earn some PNA points.. sigh.. I have to resort to calling all of them up personally. So far I only have two guiders who have expressed some interest but they are not from the North zone.

We had two days of meeting. Dead tired. And it has to happen during my hols. I am still working so hard even during the hols... workplans, presentations, Guides stuff...

Anyway I am so looking forward to the Dec hols. Finally I can have a good break and relax and when I am tired of relaxing, I will think of what I will do next year.

Enchanted here I come.. die die must watch this weekend. I go to Rotten tomatoes to check out their reviews for movies. Usually they are quite accurate. I trust them 95% ...

I finally got my beloved car back! Yipee.. I guess once bitten twice shy. Now, I check many times.. I think it is excessive.. before I dare to turn right or left.. Shaken already so must be extra careful.

I can't wait to watch ' Enchanted' I think it will be super sweet!!!

Today is my grandpa' death anniversary. We went to the church niche to pray and remember him. My grandpa passed away 3 years ago.

Anyway, I am so pissed off with my hubby. He drove so fast; it was hard for my relatives to keep up. All the ego in him.. says he canno drive slow. Cannot stand him!!!! Such an idiot!!!! had the cheek to say I have poor judgement. It is also my parents' fault, gave us the wrong address. Thus there was so much confusion!!!

Anyway, really angry with hubby!!! Such an idiot!!!!

Today is my super unlucky day!!!!! Just last week, my car couldn't start. It turned out that my car battery was dead! Today, it gave me problems again. It kept reving itself even though I have parked it. It is as if someone is stepping on the accelerator pad... so scary. Then I couldn't brake properly. My hubby said it was very dangerous and I immediately sent it into the workshop. I had to wait very long before they said that I could get my car back. Tired, I went home first since my house was quite near the workshop.. five min ride. Later to my surprise, the car was ready by 5.30pm. My dad drove me to pick up my car. Luckily, the repair charge was relatively reasonable $128.. They had to service my throttle body and reset the computer system. I missed an important Award Ceremony because of it! My ex pupil, Shiuan Shiuan invited me to her Bookprize ceremony at Ngee Ann Poly. I was so looking forward to it. But because of my car, I could not go.

Once we got the car, I felt so happy. I thought the repair would take days. Relieved, we drove out of the car workshop. My dad drove off first because he knew a short cut.I was eager to keep up as I had made an appointment with the vet. Jobi had skin problems again. Then, my phone rang and I looked down to see who was calling me. I then turned right without checking and I collided with a LORRY!It wa totally my fault. No excuse. I was distracted. I wanted to keep up with my dad and was distracted by the phone call!

I was so upset! My whole front bonnet was shattered. It was dragging on the floor. Luckily, I was not hurt but I was frightenend. Fortunately, my dad was with me. The boss of the workshop ran out and asked if I was ok. Then he assessed my car and checked with the lorry driver. He was not hurt and his lorry was slightly dented in. But my baby looked so battered. I was so upset! There were many spectators because apparently the bang was so loud!!!! The lorry driver was really nice about it. My dad was very reassuring unlike my jerky hubby who yelled at me when I called him.But I think I deserved it. Anyway, Cal is kind enough to drive me to work even though it was inconvenient for him. Alex the boss of the workshop was also very helpful and kind.

Just when I thought I could drive my car out, I had to meet with a terrible accident!!! 3 car problems in 2 weeks!! URGGGGGHHHHHHH I feeel like SCREAMINGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!

Recently my hubby and I watched this amzing, touching documentary (Peace: The Handraised Polar Bear) about a polar bear, PEACE. He was born on Dec 2 1999 at Japan's Tobe Zoological Park. After his mother rejected the cub, zookeeper Atsuhiro Takaichi took on the task of "child rearing" and subsequently succeeded in handraising a polar bear for the first time ever in Japan.

The show "Peace: The Handraised Polar Bear" chronicles five years in the life of the young cub and the caring zoo keeper from the critical time after Peace was born to the arrival of summer and the cub's first swimming lesson.
Watching Peace led me to do some research on polar bears and I realised that there are some saddening news. I took the following info from telegraph.uk. and national geographic websites

"The Independent newspaper believes polar bears will soon be found only in zoos, while the World Wildlife Fund predicts they will be unable to reproduce within five years. Former US vice president and Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore says melting ice is causing polar bears to drown. The polar bear could also be driven to extinction by global warming within 100 years, warns an ecology expert. The animal, which relies on sea ice to catch seals, is already starting to suffer the effects of climate changes in areas such as Hudson Bay in Canada.
As the sea ice disappears, so will the polar bears. Prof Andrew DerocherScientists say Arctic sea ice is melting at a rate of up to 9% per decade. Arctic summers could be ice-free by mid-century. Dr Andrew Derocher, of the University of Alberta, Edmonton, has used the data to assess the impact on the Arctic's top predator. They use the sea ice as a floating platform to catch prey and they travel across it on their way to their dens. So hopes of long-term polar bear survival hinges on humans taking action now. Countries and consumers must also reduce greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming. "

Guess what? I totally forgot that I had a Linkin Park Concert to attend tonight! Luckily, my pupil, Eric reminded me about it! I panicked because I was totally unprepared.

So I was very late for the concert. I reached there at 8 pm which was the time that the concert was supposed to start. After I parked my car, I realised that I had forgotten my tickets!!!!! I was so upset. I had to drive all the way to retrieve them..I started rebuking my hubby for forgetting to remind me!!! URGGGHHH

When I reached the stadium again, it was 8.45 pm.. Fortunately the concert has not started! We even had to wait awhile more. It started at 9.10pm. Chester, Mike, Joe, Pheonix, Brad,Rob jumped onto stage! Chester was super hot!!!!!!

I enjoyed myself. They sang many songs, but I know only some of them. I loved Numb, Where I belong, Bleed it out, What I've done, Breaking the Habit

Hi there! I know it's been ages since I last blogged.. been a tad lazy! Today is house cleaning day for me and by that I mean. the maid cleans while I snooze... and supposedly watch over her!!

I love to read magazines like Her World, Cleo, Cosmopolitan, Self, Shape etc.. they contain a lot of good, useful tips.

Yesterday Pei Ling and I presented our reading programme during the N6 cluster Sharing of Best Pratices. We had to rush thru the presentation because we only had 15 mins by the time we got everything ready. However, our audience was impressed by what we shared and some even wanted more info! We were glad!

Now I have two more big items on my plate - Sit reports andf Guides Initiaitve project. I also managed to book my Taiwan trip which was really ex: it is $1185 for 6 days Free and Easy in Taiwan and we are staying at a 3 star hotel :( MY hubby was furious with the agency because he thought the fees were too exorbitant! I agree too but we dun have much choice left. I have learnt my lesson. I must make my travel plans EARLY!

Today, I conducted oral presentations with my class 33. They had to prepare a topic that they drew lots on and write a 3 minute speech. I am really disappointed with some pupils who were so unprepared and had nothing much to say. However, at least there were some who could speak relatively well. But compared to 43, 33 has a long way to go. It all boils down to ATTITUDE! How do you treat your studies? Do you put in 100% in all that you do? 43 is not much stronger in their language but they do their best in whatever that is assigned to them and the results are always beautiful and heartwarming! It makes me so inspired to do new and exciting things with them because I know they are like sponges, ever ready to learn and improve themselves. I love 43.! 33 can be lovable but they must learn to be more serious, conscientious and diligent.

I have been sick. Dr says it is a viral infection. It left me feeling feverish. I felt so cold. I had to wear socks to bed. Also, I felt so tired- fatigue. I slept from 8.oo am to 2.00pm. Poor doggies.. They didn't have their breakfast because of me. They have been staying with me because my parents are in China visiting some relatives! My relatives in China make bras! I sometimes send my worn out bras for them to do their so called Research and development.. more like copy N Copy! However, I dun like their bras.. very itchy the material! not at all comfortable.

Anyway, today I was finally well enough to go back to school. I brought 33 to the AVa room as their class com is down and I needed them to listen to some tracks for reading aloud purposes. I think they were quite well-behaved except for some gals who were not really serious about their work.. I had to remind them to 'read read'.. But i didn't lose my temper because eventually they got down to serious business! The boys were more well-behaved today and were seen conscientiously reading! Good work. Adil is a fantastic reader- articulate, fluent and expressive. I hope he will do well in the other components as well. I must listen to some others tomorrow. Today, I tested Nat, Yi qing, Laura and Eunice. They were not too bad ( at least not monotonous)but they can do a lot better.

I brought all three dogs to Bishan park by myself today. What a feat! It was really difficult and the park was crowded(teeming with workers busying themselves with setting up stuff) because of some major event that was happening on 3 nov. A lot of tents were set up and new gardens started sprouting out from nowhere. I guess the organisers must be expecting some big shots on Sat.
Anyway, I had to clear dog poo while trying to restrain Bubbles who as usual can't wait to get into the dog run. There she played with a jack russel who was rather fiesty. He lost his temper and started picking a fight with Russell who was a tad shocked. Bub joined in the fight but all of them were so cowardly. They were actually scared of the puny jack russell who was half their size! The ownerr apologised profusely, telling me that his 'nelly' is rather aggressive...

I drove my dad's car... I was so not used to it. It was like driving a bumper car... so slow and powerless!!! and his mirrors are weird.. felt giddy after peering into them. But I need to sacrifice.. my car can't accomodate all my dogs and my hubby was not around.
