I have been so busy: exam papers to set, some research to be done and marking to catch up on. I also had a terrible time printing the results slips. This time round, I have been very careless, making several mistakes which led to much frustration and wastage of paper and I hate to waste paper. I am the kind of person who would shrink the size of consent forms just to save paper!
Also, there are so many things going on. My poor form class.. They really have lots to do. Besides the mountain of homework they have to complete, they have to build a castle structure based on recycled materials and also work on their English AMA. I am very worried about their AMA. It will constitute their term 3 marks. I hope they would produce a high quality product. Anyway , I am rather pleased with their Term 1 results. Some of them did really well scoring about 4 to 5 distinctions. On the whole, I think they are quite pleased too with their results. Of course they must push themselves even harder. I hope they would spend their hols wisely, by catching up on their weaker subjects like what I have mentioned in the 'remarks' column in their result slips.
Also 3B is working on the same AMA as 31. I am worried because 3B seems to take it too easy. I kept reminding them they need to do well to boost thei English marks. I got them to meet up and discuss the topic that they would be working on and they seem rather interested. However, I am still worried about the quality of their video clip.
A good thing about this week is that I am starting to eat healthier: I made wholesome wholemeal sandwiches with lots of veg to school and also packed salad lunches to school. It is a big change from my usual breakfast fare of fried noodles, mee reebus or roti prata. I hope I can sustain this for the next few weeks to come. I am also exercising more this week: aerobics and long walks. Today, I brought my Guides for a hike to Sungei Buloh to allow them to complete their testwork and also to take a breather from school. Sungei Buloh was really serene, its tranquility sometimes broken by my guides incessant chatter and occasional singing. There weren't many animals to see. We caught sight of some birds, monitor lizards and squirrels. I was hoping to see a crocodile. My hubby's friend told him that she once saw a crocodile sunbathing on one of the trails when she visited Sungei Buloh with her friends. They took photos and quickly did an about turn. They didn't want to become the next meal for the croc! Something exciting did happen though. We saw some wild bees and we ran as fast as we could away from them. We actually walked a lot today, close to 6 km or even more. We ventured quite far and walked for 1.5 hours. It was not really exhausting because the weather was superb: nice and cool. Also we walked at a leisurely pace, only quickening our steps when we chanced upon a swarm of 'commando' mosquitoes! Fortunately I was not stung. I sprayed loads of insect repellent!!! But some of the guides weren't so lucky!
Tomorrow, we would be going to East Coast Park to celebrate AMKSian Family Day. I am looking forward to it. I can't wait to see the beautiful sandcastles that we would be creating. Also I am looking forward to bonding with my class. I signed up for tug-of-war with them. I really enjoy playing this game!!!
